Palomar - All Thinig, Forest

I've hesitated quite a bit before mentioning Palomar. I liked the artwork and the pictures available on their website. Playing on the fact that the band is made up of 1 man and 3 women the pixs are quite funny. By the way, like the Breeders, the man plays the drums! The music is less intuitive than the pixs. Once you get use to Rachel Warren's vocal you will discover that the album is less simple that you thought, there is a crescendo and from track to track the music becomes more aggressive. Palomar has released All Thing, Forest on Misra Record, take the time to listen the album many time before making up your judgement, it's really worth listening.

Dj Mayonnaise - Easily Distracted

I guess I was first attracted by the name. As Belgian, you can not pass next such a name without commenting it : DJ Mayonnaise, or in short Mayo. You'll need to buy french chips on the street to understand that :). So Mayo plays down electronica / tempo music you'll like listening while buying clothes in a trendy place. He will release his new album "Still Alive" in July 07 on Anticon.
Perfect Music when you got an headache...

Dntel - Dumb Luck

It took Dntel almost 6 years to recover from the excellent "Life was full of possibilities". At that time I was attracted by the artwork that remembered me the time I was playing with Playmobil :-) Jimmy Tamborello (who is also active as Postal Service) is back with a new album released on SubPop. The Album is called Dumb Luck.

The Go Find - Stars on the Wall

I've already reviewed the disco tune dictionary from this Belgian band and I must admit that The Go Find's album is quite disturbing. They embrace multiple influence and mash them up in this excellent album, Stars on the wall. It goes from electronica to disco with a U-turn to acoustic folk. It makes me remember Day One's first album. My favourite track is Ice Cold Ice for the electronica beat that sounds like an Anticon record. Stars on the wall is released by Morr Music and for the details, The Go Find is the side-project of Orange Black singer/guitarist Dieter Sermeus
